The 15th annual ACI Europe 2019 Best Airports Awards take place in Limassol, Cyprus on Wednesday 26 June, where Aberdeen International Airport is shortlisted in the ‘Best Airport under 5 million Passengers’ category.

The ACI Europe Best Airport Awards are presented to airports for excellence and achievement across a range of disciplines including customer service, security and community relations.

With Aberdeen International Airport’s fellow finalists in its category still to be revealed, the airport joins Bristol, Cork, Hamburg and Tallinn airports as overall finalists.

Steve Szalay, Managing Director Aberdeen International Airport said: “The airport has been undergoing serious regeneration in the last three years. We’re coming to the end of the terminal transformation project which has been hugely well-received by our passengers – we’re creating an airport to be proud of and recognition from ACI Europe is testament to the hard work of those involved in our airport’s new look and feel.

“We’re immensely proud of our high levels of customer service and our Passengers with Reduced Mobility (PRM) offering is one of the best in the UK, with the CAA recognising our service in the highest possible banding. We were proud to welcome the UK’s first airport therapy dog team, the Canine Crew - this is another example of our commitment to making our airport a supportive and inclusive environment for all passengers.

“We’re delighted to be shortlisted among other excellent airports and look forward to the official ceremony where we can hopefully return home with an award.”
